"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." ~e.e. Cummings

My Dad always had one thing to say to me..."just be yourself." There were years when that was tough because who I was acting like and who I wanted to be were two different people. So I had to work through the kinks.

My Mom always had one thing to say to me, too..."God go with you."
Between the two I finally figured out that I was made to be someone in particular. Now, I'm not saying I'm 100% happy with the quirks He's given me, but I can honestly say I am courageously growing up...to be myself as God goes with me.

Thanks, Mom & Dad ~ it's the best advice I've ever gotten.

You say it's your birthday....

Well, it's my birthday, too, yeah!

It is ~ today I turn 40. I'm thrilled at this concept, contrary to popular belief. :) I like myself better today than I did 20 years ago. I am more confident in who I am than I was 20 years ago. I am happier with life today than I was 20 years ago. I am more fully and deeply in love with my Savior today than I have ever been in my life, and it is because of His grace in me, on me and through me that I can say 40 is Fabulous! I look forward to where He is taking me...even though there are so many who would like to pull me down...I am honored and thrilled to be used by Him for the glory of His Kingdom.

Today, in honor of my birthday, can I ask a favor? Please spend time today asking God to show you who you are ~ and to show you what He is able to do in you, through you, and with you when you surrender completely to Him. I guarantee you it won't be easy...but it will be perfect!

with love from the FABULOUS FORTIES!!
